Join us for our very first Artist Talk at HOUSE of INK in Porvoo. We are thrilled to welcome guest artists photographic artist Päivi Marin, watercolor master Petri Hytönen, and contemporary ink artist Pan Jianfeng to explore the profound themes of the pine tree and loneliness. By listening to the artists’ stories, we will discover how loneliness is expressed through the distinct yet overlapping mediums of light, water, and ink.

Decoding the Symbol of the Pine

Spanning from China to Finland, pine trees are far more than just physical landscapes. They serve as a powerful symbol in cultural traditions and art history. Exploring the deeper meaning of the pine tree allows us to dive into the unique social and psychological spaces it occupies. As a universal symbol of endurance, does discussing the pine tree bring us closer to the earth—or does it keep us company when we feel completely alone? 

An Intimate Gathering for Healing

The event takes place in our cozy 15-square-meter gallery with only 15 seats available. Through this intimate conversation about loneliness, we aim to build a community and find healing together. Warmly welcome!
