Artist Talk is coming soon: The Solitary Pine, From Observation to Existential Healing

Along with the current exhibition: Moving Roots, we will have our first artist talk. Artists from Finland, from different art mediums, will be invited.
Initially, the framework was objective: to explore the pine as a method of learning from nature and how the immigrant artist builds relationships with the new environment in the new land.
However, after deep conversations with the artist Pan Jianfeng, a profound pivot unveiled. For Pan, looking at a pine tree is not just an outward observation. It can be a deeply inward, existential necessity. For the artist, painting the pine has become a healing of loneliness through seeing and learning its diversity and strength.
In HOUSE of INk, a small 15-square-meter gallery with 15 seats, through an intimate gathering of conversation about loneliness, we are building a community and healing together.
